Mommy & Baby Yoga @ Wellness Depot
Jul 28 @ 11:00 am – 12:00 pm

The Canyon Vista Medical Center’s Wellness Depot will be hosting a Mommy & Baby yoga class the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month from 11:00 AM—Noon. Stretch, bond, and breathe with your baby in this class designed for new mothers and babies. Meet other moms and babies while you strengthen and support your post-partum, sleep-deprived body with specifically chosen asanas. Bonding postures and playful songs are also explored. Safety will be emphasized and everyone is encouraged to move at their own pace, either more gently or more intensively.

Throughout the class you will have the option to either involve your baby in the movements, to hold him or her, or to have your baby close to you on your blanket. Sometimes, babies sleep all class, other times they may want to breastfeed or bottle feed, and other times they are happy to see and hear the other babies around them. Fussing and crying is also totally normal. This class is very informal and lively, and there is absolutely no pressure or expectation for your baby to “behave” in a certain way! Part of the yoga practice is truly welcoming the babies just as they are, learning to cultivate awareness and breathing instead of tension and worry.

Please bring a yoga mat and a receiving blanket. You are more than welcome to bring extra blankets, stuffed animals, a baby carrier, and your stroller. Cost is $10 per class.
